Gustavo joined the Institute of Transportation Studies to work on policy analysis and policy implementation, with a focus on energy, the environment, and climate change, as they relate to transportation.
Starting on September, 2006, Gustavo will be at the Kennedy School of Government of Harvard University, while retaining collaborative research with the Institute of Transportation Studies. Until recently, he led the Policy and Business Strategy track of the Hydrogen Pathways project. He was active in the Societal Benefits and Economy teams of the California Hydrogen Highway initiative, and has adviced staff members of the U.S. Congress. He is also a member of the Public Policy Committee of the Electric Drive Transportation Association.

Institute of Transportation Studies, University of California, Davis. Gustavo has been working as a policy researcher and analyst since the year 2000, focusing in energy, climate change, and transportation.
Optimization Consultant. Gustavo has consulted for small businesses, using operations research in the optimization of managerial decision making.
Institute of Meteorology and Water Resources, Wroclaw, Poland. Gustavo was invited to participate in a government study of regional flood management.
Israel Institute of Technology, Technion. Gustavo has worked as a researcher on the hydrodynamics of surfactants/pollution diffusion.
Pescarmona Metallurgic Industries, Design and Numerical Simulation Division. Gustavo worked on the design of mechanical and hydrodynamic systems for a large multinational based in Mendoza, Argentina.
National Airworthiness Agency, Argentina. Gustavo worked as a consultant engineer on airworthiness policy under a United Nations project.
Activities and Interests
Gustavo is a very active member of the TTP community, leading and involved in activities related to policy research, teaching, development of the program, and outreach.
He has presented his work in a variety of journals and at various forums and conferences, including the Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting, the Annual Meeting of the Association of Public Policy and Management, and the International Partnership for a Hydrogen Economy symposium.
Sports also take an important place in Gustavo’s interests. After a long career as rugby player, he took on the job of coach of the UCD women’s rugby team during the last season.
